Review

All in all it was a nice week. We enjoyed ourselves and we improved our English skills.

The weather wasn’t always that beautiful as it could have been, but it was all right.

One of the things I really disliked was our school, the ESE. On the first day everything began with a grading test. We got told that it isn’t that important, which was definitely wrong. Because the result of this test was accountable for the grade of our certificates. No one really cared about this test so we got ticked as intermediates, which is also printed on our certificates.

After the test our ESE teacher decided to do some small talk with us, which he introduced with the sentence: “So have you all been drunk last night?”…. But that wasn’t enough.

As he found out that we visit an IT class, where we always use our laptops, he just laughed and asked if we often watch porns during the lessons. Now he definitely got labeled by all of us.

He reflected my impressions that Malta is a very commercial country. Their economy is built on tourism. That's logically why they're doing everything to attract foreigners to come to Malta.

Most of our time we spent in Paceville, which was the party city of Malta. Paceville is comparable to the “Ballermann” on the island of Mallorca. People get drunk there, and waste their money in the party zones.

I think I often got labeled as a member of the hedonist society, just because I walked out of Paceville. Many Maltese seem to think that tourists just come here to be drunk.

What I really liked was the cohesion of our group. I think this trip was very good for the atmosphere in our class. I often had good times on the beach, where we talked about many things or sang many songs, while I played guitar.
